Travel: Baby Friendly Boltholes

Flear Farm Cottages & Spa

Finding a holiday to take baby on, to satisfy both a fussy hotel junkie (i.e. me) and the family seemed like it could be tricky. However, Baby Friendly Boltholes came to the rescue, specialising in stylish and boutique holidays for pre-school kids.

Through BFB, we found Flear Farm Cottages (Devon) and off we trotted for a week with the grandparents, uncle, husband and baby in tow. The Farm is a collection of beautiful old cottages, run by a young family, for families.

On site, they have a heated indoor pool (great for little ones), beauty treatments (great for mums), sauna, hot tub, ponies, tennis and loads more. Our eight week old went for her first swim in the pool there and absolutely loved it.

Location wise, the farm is surrounded by fields upon fields – a great escape from the city. It’s near the lovely Salcome, a pretty little seaside town with amazing local seafood. The best crab we found was at the super cute Winking Prawn, North Beach. It’s a cool little kitsch cafe right on the beach, just beautiful in our September indian summer.

Time to start planning the next family break then…
